This paper is a critical review of the second edition of the book The constitution and its justice reserve: a theory on the material limits to the amendment power, by Oscar Vilhena Vieira, published by WWF Martins Fontes, in 2023. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the review is divided into two sections. Initially, a general presentation of the work and its author is made. Subsequently, the author's arguments throughout the book are presented and critical considerations are made. The conclusion is an invitation for more and more people had contact with the work that proposes a reflection on the articulation of constitutional permanence and constitutional change based on the relationship between unamendable clauses and popular sovereignty.
